• Learn

Join the mentoring program! At Sealcode you can learn to create web applications by completing tasks from real commercial projects. Can you do a lot? You can join us and mentor others.

    Earn

We pay for completed tasks, not for hours worked. This system motivates continuous improvement of individual skills and the team’s overall competence. There’s no need to negotiate rates — the better you work, the more you automatically earn. You also have the freedom to work as much as you want, wherever and whenever you like!

  • Create

By working at Sealcode, you leave a mark on the team and beyond. You help create a community that cultivates a culture of awareness and responsibility in IT. You develop Open Source solutions. You expand the range of your skills and competences.

Welcome to Sealcode!

We are a group of passionate web technology developers. We’re not afraid to challenge established patterns and stereotypes associated with working in IT.

We are a community that creates a workplace within its own framework. We believe that a good work environment is key to a sense of life satisfaction. We strive to ensure that Sealcode provides developers with:

  • a means of livelihood,
  • opportunities to solve real problems,
  • the ability to improve and grow,
  • enjoyable work methodologies.

The Ikigai diagram shows four circles. The circle titled “What you love to
do” connects with the circle “What the world needs,” and their overlap is
called “Mission.” It also connects with the circle “What you are good at,”
and their shared part is “Passion.” The circle titled “What you can be paid
for” connects with “What the world needs,” forming “Vocation,” and also with
“What you are good at,” whose shared part is “Profession.” The overlap
between “Passion” and “Profession” says: “You are satisfied, but don’t feel
needed.” The connection between “Passion” and “Mission” is: “A life of
fulfillment, but not of wealth.” “Mission” and “Vocation” overlap in:
“Satisfaction and excitement, but also a sense of uncertainty.” The
combination of “Vocation” and “Profession” says: “Comfortable, but not
enjoyable.” Finally, “Passion,” “Mission,” “Vocation,” and “Profession” all
	come together in “Sealcode.”

    Transparent compensation and openness

Everyone knows how much a project cost and what happens with the money earned. Everyone knows who earned what on a given project. We believe that hiding this kind of information is so troublesome that it isn’t worth any questionable gains it might bring. So why do it?

  2. 02

Billing by tasks, not by hours

Paying a programmer for hours spent doesn’t make sense. We believe in a simple payment system: each task in a project is assigned a difficulty level in points. For each completed point, the same rate applies. That’s it!

    Team communication culture

Not all of us work at Sealcode full-time—many of us balance Sealcode with another job or, for example, with studies. We know it’s crucial to use communication tools that remain effective even for people who are offline for most of the week.

    Mentoring – Learn and Earn

Since we don’t pay by hours, job interviews are unnecessary here. Can you code? Great, welcome aboard—we’ll get you set up with our task system and the appropriate repositories. Want to learn to code? You’ll have the opportunity to work on tasks under a mentor’s guidance. For completing a task, you’ll receive payment under the same rules as every other team member.

Our tech stack

Our main technologies are Node, Mongo, and Hotwire. We build on top of them the Sealious framework, which eliminates many of the tedious steps in creating web applications.

Working without Jira

Programmers don’t like working with Jira, so we don’t use it. We organize our work using the fast, open-source Phorge
